Initial appearances are deceiving. Florence blew 7-17 today which is just enough wind to get you out in the 14ft monsters and get crushed. South wind is tricky for most of us and is usually not worth the trip. It is like bath water compared to the gorge this time of year. The fish are just a bit bigger here

I am on my second season with the Session, in general I like it.
Pro's:
versatile, especially if you buy the shorts, you can use as waist or seat style, but more comfortable than other seat harnesses.
I basically always use it with the straps and shorts and it is comfortable.
Con's:
You're right about the spreader bar, it is hard to get the straps tight enough to keep it from pulling away from your body and pivoting up.
The spreader bar pad is not the best in my opinion, it is hard to keep it centered behind the bar, it seems to either want to roll up or roll down. I am going to replace mine with a da kine pad.
Note: I also bought a different spreader bar with a release so you don't have to thread it every time. Works well, and saves a few minutes.
Hope this is helpful.

Anyone try the Ocean Rodeo Session? I just recieved one in the mail and I'm not sure I like it enough to keep it considering the price. I like the integrated handlepass leash and knife pocket and the idea that it can be worn with or without leg straps. My only complaint is the way the bar mounts. You have to rethread it every time you put it on and it flexes up and down very easily. I have been using a Fusion seat harness for some time now and really like that it can't ride up. The Nitrous shorts look OK but not sold on them. Lots of folks use the Dakine Tabu- it seems solid but no integrated handlepass leash or even a knife pocket. Any suggestions....thanks.

I'm ~145lbs and on a 7/11/13 quiver. And of course there will be times when you'd need a 5m!

Today at a sandbar committee meeting at the Port, I was told we have preliminary approval for our CGKA driven clean up of the wood on the sandbar Saturday May 19th looks like the best day so we avoid the chance the Hood River dumps more wood after we clean it up, but before Memorial weekend season kickoff. Every participant will need to sign a release of liability sheet we will coordinate. We now have permission to use chainsaws, and I am working on a one-time use of 4X4 vehicles (not tractors or backhoes, etc.) to pull logs to make a big pile to ignite. It seemed to work great last year when we moved about 10 ton of rocks. Last year our rock moving cleanup effort greatly improved the ease of kite line launching and landing. This year the guy on the project from the Corp of Engineers is also working on a deal with SDS lumber to use their barge and then he can re-locate the wood in the river so it forms fish habitat, instead of us burning it - which everyone now agrees has to happen at least a little. At our CGKA meeting last Sat night Forrest who you all know from this forum has greatfully agreed to help me with organizing the clean up project! Any other volunteers would be greatly appreciated! We will need a LARGE croud to do this successfully in one effort, so I hope we can count on a large number of the people who read this to rally all their kiteboard friends to join up on the effort! Last year kicked .........
