intermediate kiter need advise... - 2008/01/17 04:21 Alright so I have flown a four line 4m ram air foil kite for quite sometime, but now im switching over to a 12m Naish X2. I have flown one before and thought it was awesome, so of course needed to get one...

Here comes in the issue...
Since the inflatable is kinda new to me, my first question is how firm should the bladders be filled??

Next,
I bought a Bar that is a pulley system... didnt really realize until i took it out, but I have never used the pulley system and I am not at all familiar with it. Is is any good?? It was only 40 bucks on ebay, so not too much of a loss...
Lastly, what bar/lines would you recommend for me?
I weight 185 pounds, 5'10" I can fly kites really well, but not an expert yet.
Im just confused with the size of the bars and size of the lines...
Oh yeah, dunno if it matters but Its just for land use for now... Kinda have a fear of water after a Kite tubing crash.

Thanks in advance for your advise!!!

Re:intermediate kiter need advise... - 2008/02/11 05:56 Hi, A pulley bar is no good for your Naish X2 kite. You need a naish 4 line bar or you could convert your kite to a 5 line. The pulley bar you bought could be a bow kite bar or a 4 line bar with no trim loop. The correct bar type and a good safety system is more important that line legnth at this point.
Line legnth is a matter of preference, purpose and power. Generally shorter lines are less powerful and easier to manage. Longer lines are more difficult and harder to manage. What kind of land use is it for?
